GIUSEPPE GALANTE is a versatile craftsman who has been living for years in Cagliari but whose family is originally from Mamoiada, a small town in the province of Nuoro, famous for its mamuthones and creation of wooden masks. It would be these origins and an innate dexterity that would push Giuseppe Galante, together with his dear father, to begin his career experience as a wood artist, hence the nickname FUSTERI SU (the carpenter). But he would soon realize what his true calling would be. That is when he began to create his first masterpiece knives. In his rare public appearances he became noticed by the world of top rated collectors and began to achieve his first successes and praises such as the first prize for best knife at the Calangianus exhibition. He is frequently mentioned in major trade magazines such as Coltelli e Lame D'Autore. Recently, he was also mentioned in the book: CUCHILOS PLEGABLES by Argentine writer Abel Domenech, one of the leading researchers and experts on weapons and knives. He regularly participates in popular exhibitions all over Italy and the Sardinian island such as Guspini, Palmas and Macomer. He has a reputation for being an excellent forger of Mokume metal which he uses for his own creations and for other cutlers. The use of quality materials and a craftsman technique, together with strict standard finishes without compromises, have turned this rare artist into one of the main reference point for collectors and amateurs of traditional Sardinian knives.
